11. Teaching Ideas P/J

Devoted to discussing ideas, practical suggestions, and strategies for using computers, particularly with the Internet, in primary/junior education. 12. Teaching Ideas I/S

Devoted to discussing ideas, practical suggestions, and strategies for using computers, particularly with the Internet, in intermediate/senior education. Explores the contributions of women to computer science and to the arts and social sciences as related to computing. 14. Web Publishing

Considers issues such as the aesthetics of Web page design, design tools, impact of Web pages, Web advertising, and commercialism of the Web. Begin with Yahoo! Web section and explore links--especially Authoring and Page Design and Layout

15. Online Projects

Compares and contrasts the variety of online learning projects available to children and teachers, their outcomes, and criteria for creating successful projects. Starting points include WEIR, Kids from Kanata, Composers in Electronic Residence, Jason Project and Kidlink.

16. Impact of Technology

Devoted to critical analysis, discussion, and synthesis of the impact of technology on children's learning. Begin your exploration with the Impact of Technology Page.

17. Future of the Net

Discusses the current state of the Internet with regard to governance, growth, traffic, and demand, and considers future directions. Begin with Internet history and statistics, and then explore articles found at The Future of the Internet.

18. Distance Education

Devoted to a discussion of how the Web can now be used to deliver instruction to distant learners, what kinds of courses are now offered on the Web, and the strengths and weaknesses of the Web for that purpose. Starting points include Yahoo! Distance Ed., World Lecture Hall, The Open University (UK), City University, Globewide Network Academy, University of Massachusetts.

19. Canadian Resources

Explores the current state of Internet resources available about Canada, their utility for teaching, and future directions of Internet access and development in Canada. Begin with Yahoo! Canada and explore relevant links.

20. Evaluation Forum

Devoted to a discussion of criteria for the evaluation of software and Web pages and their content, and the identification of outstanding examples of educational software and Web sites. Starting points include Critically evaluating Web information, Yahoo! software listing, ESI Online Catalog of Software, Software Publishers Association, Listing of software reviews.
