Survey

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS

We thank you for your cooperation with the research project of the Coalition for the Advancement of Aboriginal Studies (CAAS).

This survey has been developed, and is being administered, by our core group members and our volunteer support network across Canada. Your responses will be evaluated relative to curriculum policies and resources across the country. They will be used to help the CAAS determine where its network of academics, partner organizations and community-based supporters can most effectively place its energies. We will also use your responses to help us identify places across Canada where there is a high quality of Aboriginal Studies instruction, which we will study in order to replicate.

Please be advised: we are aware it may be very difficult for you to complete this survey accurately. We also know that some of the information we touch on is tough to deal with, emotionally, for some people. Please don't get discouraged - JUST TRY YOUR BEST. Your completed surveys are very helpful to us. If you don't wish to cooperate or decide to quit part way through, we ask you to consider sending us an anonymous note concerning your reactions to the survey and your reasons for declining participation; this information is also helpful to us. A sheet of paper is being circulated for this purpose.

  • You have the right to refuse to participate in this research. Your instructor or professor may assign other work.
  • You have the right to stop participating in this research project at any point during the survey 'test' time. Please consult with your professor or teacher about the use of your remaining time.

  • Please do not write your name or any other identifying information on the survey form. All responses will remain anonymous.

  • General information about the purpose of this survey is found above. Students: if you contact us through the coordinates above, we will keep you apprised of our work. If you want to stay in touch, bookmark this website. Information about this survey and other CAAS projects will be found there.

  • We hope you see this, as we do, as a "learning" moment. For this reason, we furnish an "Answer Sheet" for dissemination after the survey has been completed.

Once again, thank you from the CAAS -
or, in Ojibway, Chi Miigwetch!
